What can I insure?
The electrical appliance insurance offers you insurance coverage for your electrical appliances from the household appliance range. The insurance coverage essentially covers unforeseen and sudden damages, for example, due to operating errors, fire, lightning, explosion or implosion, overvoltage, induction, short circuit, sabotage, vandalism or intentional damage by third parties.
What will be replaced?
In case of damage, we will reimburse the necessary repair costs up to the amount of the sum insured. Should a repair be technically impossible or uneconomical (total loss), the replacement benefit is limited to a new and marketable device of the same type and quality (replacement in kind). If the device is older than 60 months at the time of the damage event (total loss), the replacement benefit is
– in the 6th year 90 %
– in the 7th year 80 %
– in the 8th year 70 %
– in the 9th year 60 %
– in the 10th and 11th year 50 %
– in the 12th year 40 %
of the exchange offer for a new device.
How high is the sum insured?
The amount of the agreed sum insured is the gross sales price of the electrical appliance as per invoice.
Can an already purchased device be insured retroactively?
Yes, that is possible. Used devices can be insured up to the 11th year after the purchase date of the initial purchase. A prerequisite for this is proof of the purchase date and purchase price of the device at the time of initial purchase. Please note, however, the maximum term of 144 months (12 years) from the purchase date of the initial purchase of the insured electrical appliance.
